People with schizophrenia can feel lonely and unsupported and that they lack access and knowledge for where to go to receive care. Providers may lack visibility about their patient’s journey with schizophrenia, while caregivers can feel they are sparingly and inconsistently involved with the daily life of who they are supporting.

When approaching the design of the Neuroni solution, we made sure the system was focused on helping to strengthen the relationships between patients, caregivers, providers and case managers, to provide more transparency, ease of mind, and better coordination through digitalization.

To combat the challenges for patients, HCPs and caregivers, the Neuroni solution needed to offer a digital tool for each of these groups to connect the patient’s support network. We worked with our client to design the concept, the UI & UX and strategy.

The Neuroni ecosystem solution was designed to connect people with schizophrenia to their caregiver, case manager and provider, through two connected apps and an overview dashboard. It features a patient app where people with schizophrenia can log consultation appointments, passively track and self-report behaviors and attitudes, generate social goals and connect.

A second app specifically designed for caregivers helps them stay close to the patient to support their relationship and avoid alienation. The last piece of this solution package is a dashboard for case managers and providers to access and review collected information to help graduate their patient’s treatment journey.

The approach to creating ExSeed was focused on personalization. With an assessment based on men’s health data such as diet, lifestyle and semen quality, the solution was designed to be used in the comfort of the home.

ExSeed Health is designed to work directly from home and allows men to gain unprecedented reproductive health insights. The solution provides personalized assessment based on men’s health data concerning diet, lifestyle patterns, and semen quality, all available from the comfort and privacy of the home.

The ExSeed journey starts with a short questionnaire that helps determine the sperm’s health status. This translates into a personalized 90-day program with tailored nutritional recommendations, exercise plans, follow-up guidance, food supplements, and continuous semen testing, all actively aimed at improving men’s fertility.

The CE Certified device and accompanying app provide efficient and reliable results. Devices are sent in discreet packaging and can be shipped across the EU and the UK. The platform is personalized to each user for optimal results.

A lifestyle intervention program right from the comfort of your own home.

The first step is to fill out a questionnaire (personal measurements, lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, rituals). The user can then use this information to evaluate their lifestyle and look at where improvements and changes could be made.

The challenge for the success of obesity patients is a complex problem that stems from both the patient’s lack of guidance and the clinician’s lack of resources. Patients lack personalized plans, continual motivation and a place to track and record sustainable habits, while clinicians can be limited in the resources they need when managing people with obesity.

For people living with obesity, their goals can often be difficult to achieve, with a lack of personalized plans available, challenges with ongoing motivation as well as establishing sustainable habits in their day-to-day.

People with obesity can struggle to achieve, and maintain, treatment goals.

Taking a patient-centric approach to the creation of MotivO, the product process was heavily focused on motivation for the user, as well as educational content to be able to support them in long term management of their weight and overall health.

Patients can use MotivO to keep track of their upcoming appointments, log their personal progress including both physical progress and their wellbeing, and focus on achieving their goals. With education at the core of the product, the app teaches users the fundamentals of weight loss, nutrition, exercise and general wellbeing, all supporting the individual on their journey. Motivation is often a challenging factor, so the buddy program within MotivO is integral to supporting patients.

Through planning, education and motivation, MotivO empowers patients to feel more knowledgeable in their day-to-day. They are supported to adopt new lifestyle changes, giving doctors the opportunity to gain better insights in patients’ daily life.

A patient diary helps to log personal progress, such as body measurements. It also encourages psycho-social mood tracking that can all be shared with a healthcare professional to help monitor and encourage progress.

The 6 educational themes include: my medicine, motivation, nutrition, being active, coping strategies, and weight maintenance. This can help users learn strategies for how to deal with setbacks, weight plateau, food craving, emotional eating, and living a healthier lifestyle.

The buddy program in MotivO is a cornerstone feature driving engagement and motivation. A buddy can be added via email and receives a shadow version of the app to help support the performance of the user. It is also possible to send direct messages, comment on goals, motivate, and more.

Driven by the patient experience to navigate daily challenges

MotivO

People living with PAH often visit their clinician regularly to assess symptoms. With COVID-19 preventing in-person visits at the time, there were fewer clinical visits and therefore the need for a solution to connect patients and HCPs.

With the goal of creating a digital tool that could help patients connect with their team of clinicians, we applied design thinking methods and processes to conceptualize an interface to encourage more transparency between patients and HCPs.

Made up of two components, an HCP platform connected with a patient-facing mobile app that captured key information remotely, CareConnect would enable the patient’s HCP to act from a distance. The app was developed to know what to capture and could lean on an objective method to formulate a patient´s status. Part of the conceptualized purpose of the app was for it to collect data points from a variety of connected devices, and with a GPS-based tracking test, the disease specific 6-minute walk test could be done remotely.

We knew that most patients already kept a physical notebook where they logged a symptom diary to remember important information and keep track of any trends in their symptoms when visiting their clinician. Empowered with CareConnect, they could keep this information in the app with the bonus of dynamically syncing the data to the HCP interface.

By connecting the patient’s inputted data with the HCP interface, CareConnect had the ability to improve information sharing between the patient and HCP. The product idea was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and so beyond the increased transparency, patients were able to perform tasks and measurements at home.

Enabling PAH patients to share logged informations with their healthcare team from a remote setting, CareConnect was designed for the user to log information. By sharing the results virtually, any changes in the patient’s status can be seen by the HCP.

The app needed to track 4 metrics at separate intervals, each with different techniques. These included blood pressure, 6-minute walk test, blood work, and the WHO functional class to calculate a score. Since they needed to fit into an everyday schedule the key design criteria was an efficient flow that was easy to use.

A valuable feature for both patients and HCPs would be the ability to see trends in data points captured over time. For HCPs this feature would serve as a way of communicating needed changes in treatment to patients, while patients also felt more empowered by knowing their history.

The 6 Minute Walk Test feature logs the test results using the phones GPS and instructs users during the test with supporting text, large illustrations and animations. Additionally, the feature has an easy-to-understand interface with a large clock timer ticking down to easily see your progress.​ When the test is over, the user can either submit their data to their HCP or start over.​

Creating more transparency between patients and HCPs

GHD is a condition caused by a lack of growth hormones, and a key challenge that Growth Journey was built to address is increasing awareness of the condition within households. Since GHD can result in healthy recoveries when detected early, a tool such as this for parents and carers to easily use, in the comfort of their own home, makes both education and the likelihood of detecting an underlying issue higher.

With a general lack of awareness and understanding about the condition, there’s also the need for a tool that helps to shed light on GHD by guiding and educating parents and caregivers.

Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) is a rare medical condition caused by a lack of growth hormone, mostly affecting children. Height is an important indication of a child’s development, but it can rarely be measured enough to reveal any underlying issues.

To ensure the app best supported parents and caregivers, we worked with our client to build a simple, intuitive tool tht they could easily use in their day-to-day life at home. To best monitor changes, the app had to fit seamlessly into life.

An intuitive app designed to act as a diary log for a child’s growth, Growth Journey uses an in-app camera feature with image recognition software to quickly measure their child’s height with increased frequency and accuracy. By measuring, tracking, and recording their measurements in the child’s growth book, a caregiver can detect growth increments and deviations. If measurements differ from standard country-specific growth charts, the caregiver is alerted to contact a doctor.

If a child is diagnosed with GHD, then Growth Journey can also support during the child’s treatment. By entering the medication, dose and frequency of dosing into the app, Growth Journey sends reminder notifications. Parents and caregivers can also use the app to keep track of the child’s injections as well as receive insights body part injection tracking, helping to remind them to not inject the child in the same part of the body continuously.

Growth Journey helps to spread awareness about GHD and helps to educate caregivers and children about the condition. The app is for screening and educational purposes and not intended for diagnostic purposes, however it is a useful tool that serves to guide, manage, and lead users towards a diagnosis as early as possible. The app helps them to provide their doctor with information about their child that can help them to prescribe the correct treatment promptly.

By utilizing the smartphone camera and image recognition software, Growth Journey supports parents in helping to track a child’s measurements and growth over time. This can help to indicate for Growth Hormone Deficiency at an early stage.
